A beautiful healing of my mother of an enlarged heart brought our family into Christian Science. I grew up in Texas and I’ve always been a seeker for Truth.

But during my university studies in graphic arts, I had a challenging physical problem that impelled me to continually read Science and Health. With each reading, I used a different colored marker to highlight important points until the book was rainbowed with colors. With all those readings, I found the answers to my deepest questions and also experienced a complete healing.

What led me into the public practice of Christian Science was the taking to heart the First Tenet, which includes embracing, “the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life.” (Church Manual, p. 15) For two years I researched and prayed humbly about the promise and fulfillment of that Tenet. I found that “Love alone is Life” (Hymn 30) and that as Love’s reflection, we all have an infinite supply of Love with which to love everyone, everywhere, impartially, universally, for eternity! What a joy! Going into the practice, as well as writing for the periodicals and serving in our Church, were a natural and practical outcome of the expression of unselfed love.

Increasingly, that Christly love expanded into becoming a teacher in 2006. Truly, it is love for God and all mankind that inspires and lights the way for healing and teaching. More than the letter, the animus of Love lived and felt in our heart opens advancing views of reality.
