In 1923 my grandfather was given a copy of Science and Health, and through reading it, healed his five-year-old son (my father) of terminal cancer and polio, whose case had been given up by five physicians. I felt a natural affinity for Christian Science as a young child, and early developed a desire to heal. This intensified when I faced a severe health challenge during my teens which resulted in a significant healing. This is also the time I joined my local church. Later, I began an academic career teaching literature at several institutions in the US, UK, South Africa, and Australia while also steadily developing a healing practice. In 2003, I committed to healing full-time and joined the Board of Lectureship in 2005. I feel there is no greater peace or joy in this world than gaining insights into what truly helps the human family sustain irreversible progress. This affection and conviction in my heart led to becoming a teacher of Christian Science in 2006. I also love writing poetry, playing the piano, and walking regularly in a beautiful forest which hosts the home where I live with my family. The worth of this Science to me is that it reveals how to think clearly and how to test the integrity of our thinking. My expanding experience is that this intelligent love leads beyond every obstacle faced by the human race because real seeing is not believing, it is understanding, and this makes all the difference.
