An event for the community—regardless of your faith background
Talks on Christian Science, also known as Christian Science lectures, are sponsored by a church, but they are for the wider community. If you’re curious about Christian Science, these talks will provide a good introduction. If you’re looking for comfort or healing in your life, you’ll find ideas that can help.
Explain what Christian Science is (and isn’t)
Lectures provide the public with an honest explanation of what Christian Science is and isn’t. They are not a church service, a sermon, or a tool for proselytizing or converting. Anyone can attend, without fear of being judged. The event is for you.
What happens at a lecture?
Every lecture is hosted a little bit differently depending on the needs of a particular community. But its purpose is always the same—to provide an introduction to Christian Science.
Each talk is typically about one hour long. The speaker will:
Share ideas that are centered on the Bible, the teachings of Christ Jesus, and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy.
Explain how these teachings are practical and relevant to daily life.
Talk through how individual, community, or global issues can be resolved through prayer—sometimes including healings they have had themselves.
Invite guests to connect with the members of the hosting church after the talk.
The speakers are all members of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. All have an active, proven public healing practice based on the teachings of Christian Science.
