Christian Science found me at university in 1981. Before joining the Church in 1984, I began taking a newspaper a week and praying for the situations described in all the articles. I did this for two years, then took class instruction, and began reserving first two and then three nights a week to pray for others and the world. In 1987 I left university to go into the full-time public practice. I became a teacher in 1991, and served as the Committee on Publication for Ontario and the Federal Committee for Canada for almost nine years. From 2004 to 2007 I conducted services as First Reader of The Mother Church. Since then, I've lectured and given workshops on the public practice and Christian Science nursing in some 35 countries, in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, including in countries as diverse as India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Rwanda, Congo, Italy, and Cuba. I served as Director of The Mother Church from 2011 to 2017, and for two of those years, as Clerk of The Mother Church. I’ve contributed more than a hundred articles to Church magazines, as well as editorial pieces on Christian Science to large-city newspapers. During five years I served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Ontario Multifaith Council on Spiritual and Religious Care, one of the world’s best-established multifaith groups. I give class to make Christian Science practitioners and nurses - those who yearn to practice Christian Science for themselves and others. Our Association provides a lifelong network of love and mutual support.
