Yvonne Joy Prinsloo CSB

Christian Science is a way of life to me. As a third-generation Christian Scientist I experienced many healings when I was growing up, but it was only when I was a University student in South Africa and a member of the Christian Science College Organisation that I discovered its practicality and effectiveness.

As a child, I loved listening to Bible stories, especially healings performed by Jesus. These gifts of God’s grace seemed so natural, yet I couldn’t understand why God would not allow for such healings today.

I spent the largest part of my childhood with my grandparents in Denmark. Through my grandfather, who had studied theology, I came to love the Bible. Later when I lived in Germany with my parents, I was introduced to Christian Science and attended Sunday School for a number of years. As my parents were musicians, playing an instrument became one of my hobbies.

Chiemezi Elvis Ahanonu, CSB

Chiemezi has always desired to understand how things work, often immersing himself in books in order to explore this desire. He encountered Christian Science as a teenager, through Sentinel radio– an audio program from the Christian Science Sentinel. At first, he didn't really understand it; but he felt there was something more to it that was worth exploring. He began to seriously study Christian Science many years later, applying that same desire to “understand how things work” he’d always felt.

Mary Elizabeth Beattie CSB

When I took Christian Science Primary class instruction in my twenties, I found that the teachings were relevant to me as a tertiary student, young wife, mother of four children, traveller and thinker. They also enhanced and steadied my life and work in Australia, England and Malaysia. Today, living in an environment of cultural, political, health and climate challenges, I find reassurance in this counsel from Mary Baker Eddy: ‘We must look deep into realism instead of accepting only the outward sense of things’ ( Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures ).

As a child and young adult growing up in St. Louis, I felt life was a mystery; the future was unknown and the present a string of random events.

In high school I struggled with a painful disease that examining physicians said had no cure. Through Christian Science I was healed within two weeks.

Making a choice for God has been a reoccurring theme throughout my life. Christian Science was introduced to our family when I was young.

Makengo Ma Pululu CSB

I became acquainted with Christian Science thanks to a niece of mine who was born deaf and dumb and was healed by a Christian Scientist in 1973. I started investigating Science through the Bible Lessons . I was then healed of a violent headache and of a white spot on one of my eyes. After I shared a few spiritual truths with a friend, he was healed of malaria.

Joshua J Niles CSB

Having been raised in Christian Science, I've long had a deep love for God and His unchanging divine laws. Studying Jesus' ministry and the scientific system of healing that he lived and that Mary Baker Eddy explains has always been balanced for me with an active life and lots of opportunities to live what I learn.
