As a small child, I always felt at home in church. The more I learned about Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy, the more they became close friends, whose teachings showed me how God’s love and tender care heal and protect me, and others, from illness and danger. Growing up, I had powerful proof that Christian Science heals, and is reliable and transformative. These healings, including a diagnosed case of strep throat, inspired me to help others realize the healing power that comes from an understanding of God as infinite, divine Principle, Love.

Christian Science has taken care of my family’s needs for five generations. I used to listen to my German grandmother tell me how God had protected family members during both world wars. These accounts of protection from bombs and Nazi interrogations had the same feeling of authenticity as the Bible accounts of deliverance from lions’ dens and fiery furnaces. Because of that, the Bible always felt approachable to me. Growing up in Colorado, loving hiking and skiing and the mountains, it always felt completely natural to be talking to God and listening for His presence.

Creative order is the thread that weaves through my life. It's in music, which I taught and performed for about 10 years, and it was crucial in the tearoom my husband and I ran for five years.

I graduated from college as a teacher of commercial science and worked for the post office, for public schools as teacher, and for my own business. Before discovering Christian Science, I was healed of several diseases, and I healed other people at my former church through faith and prayer.

For a long time, I felt like I was doing everything I was supposed to do –– pursuing a meaningfulcareer, helping others, and building a life that looks successful on the outside. And yet,underneath it all, there was a persistent sense that something was missing. I followed my desire to help people by earning undergraduate and graduate degrees in socialwork and spent over a decade working as a psychotherapist.

Christian Science is the framework of my life. The naturalness of turning to God is something I first learned from my parents, grandparents and Sunday School teachers.
