There’s a Psalm that has helped me discover and follow my life’s path: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way” (Psalm 37) While in college I took courses in architecture, but discovered that my heart was in radio broadcasting, so I took that step and spent time working at the college radio station. Then I was drafted into the Army, which led to serving in American Forces Radio, followed by years of work in commercial radio, then as a national radio consultant.  In that capacity I was hired to help  The Christian Science Monitor  launch 'Monitor Radio'.

The problems we face can seem to shatter our hopes and dreams. But Christian Science shows that understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ is able to change the course of our lives for the better.

I always knew there was something special about Christian Science. From a young age, I aspired to be a full-time practitioner of this healing truth, yearning to help others experience the healing power of God and find freedom from suffering. After graduating from Stanford University with a BA in economics, I worked five years in my family’s farming and orchard business while listening and praying for next steps toward a career of Christian Science healing.

I live in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, with my wife, two daughters, a son, and nine grandchildren. I ran across Christian Science at college at a time when I was starting to doubt the usefulness of religion in life, after having attended a Christian denomination since childhood.

I attended Christian Science Sunday School as a child, but my dad insisted that his daughters receive medical treatment. When I was 16 years old, after years of unsuccessful medical care, I had a startling and permanent healing of ear infections through Christian Science. God became my only physician. At age 19, I took a definitive stand for Christian Science and supported my mom’s reliance on it during a critical illness. When it appeared that she was dying, and that Christian Science could not save her, I discovered God as my tender Mother-Love, and committed myself to Christian Science, no matter the outcome. I put God first, and my mom had a radical healing. Nine years later, I was quickly healed of the anticipated fatal effects of an automobile accident through complete reliance on Christian Science.

Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science, outlined a few brief tenets, rather than a creed or doctrinal beliefs, that summarize the essential points of Christian Science, all of which are rooted in the Bible.

I attended a commercial secondary school (1961-1968) and studied economics at a university (1969-1973). After this education, I taught mathematics for two years before being employed by a well-respected American commercial bank in Kinshasa for fourteen years.

Christian Science has always been most precious to me. I was raised in it, and I can honestly say there was never a time when I didn't think of myself as a Christian Scientist.

The Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s writings have guided me from childhood. In my teens, I toured with a musical band but always believed my lifework was to serve the Cause of Christian Science.
