Raised in South Africa during the apartheid era by parents who practised Christian Science, I felt uncomfortably “doubly advantaged” – racially by State law, spiritually by what Sunday School taught about God's law.

Roots. Christian Science has given me stability, peace and happiness throughout my life.

Christian Science is a way of life to me. As a third-generation Christian Scientist I experienced many healings when I was growing up, but it was only when I was a University student in South Africa and a member of the Christian Science College Organisation that I discovered its practicality and effectiveness.

Simple ideas, about God's nature and about our nature as expressions of God, stir something new in our consciousness. They work in us in ways that change our lives and our health for the better. But how do we find these healing ideas consistently? We’ll look at the teachings of Christ Jesus, our best and most practical example.

As a child and young adult growing up in St. Louis, I felt life was a mystery; the future was unknown and the present a string of random events.

In this lecture, explore practical and transformative prayer, as taught in Christian Science. Through compelling personal stories, Christian Science practitioner and lecturer Bobby Lewis illustrates how the spiritual laws of divine Love operate– and how prayer brings us into alignment with these laws.
