Having been raised in Christian Science I always expected to become a practitioner. While my path may not have been as quick and direct as it probably has been for others, there were always signposts that I was on the right track.

I was in my late teens when God became more real to me as an infinitely loving presence. At the time, I was struggling with tough relationship problems, so I was wide open to seeking divine answers.

Making a choice for God has been a reoccurring theme throughout my life. Christian Science was introduced to our family when I was young.

My spiritual education began with attendance at Sunday School and has continued through membership in branch churches. This membership has been an invaluable guide on my spiritual journey, as it has provided me with opportunities to learn and grow as a Christian Scientist.

In my early teens I devoted myself to God and a Christian way of life. My dad’s deep desire to understand God encouraged me to search for answers regardless of denomination, and this led me to Christian Science in my late twenties.

As a child growing up in Nevada and California, our family was very enterprising. Though we didn’t have a great deal materially, I watched as my mother’s brand new study of Christian Science began to bring much good into our lives.
