"Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way,” Mary Baker Eddy writes (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, page 454). I have witnessed this in my journey.

I grew up in a deeply Christian family, and very early learnt to love God and read the Bible. While a university student, I heard about Christian Science, and was immediately drawn to the fact that Christ is a real, though not physical, presence, which I may prove practically, by healing like Jesus.

I always knew there was something special about Christian Science. From a young age, I aspired to be a full-time practitioner of this healing truth, yearning to help others experience the healing power of God and find freedom from suffering. After graduating from Stanford University with a BA in economics, I worked five years in my family’s farming and orchard business while listening and praying for next steps toward a career of Christian Science healing.

I have practiced healing prayer for others since 1981. My family came to Christian Science through my dad’s healing of acute depression.

Christian Science is the framework of my life. The naturalness of turning to God is something I first learned from my parents, grandparents and Sunday School teachers.

Christian Science has been important to me my whole life. Through study of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I have loved learning more about God--what He is and what He does, and what we are as His beloved children.  After taking class instruction as a college student, it was clear to me that practicing Christian Science was my goal.  After a few years of teaching  high school English, I left to practice Christian Science more fully, applying the laws of God to each call, and utilizing “the power of Truth over error,” (SH 111: 11) as issues came up in family,  church, and the community.  I became a Journal-listed practitioner in 2015, and went through Normal Class in 2021.

A used copy of Science and Health , purchased for ten cents at a book fair, was shared with me by a friend while I was a student at Tulane University. At the time, I was struggling to gain a sense of direction and purpose in my life.

Growing up in a Christian family, I had lots of questions. I thought deeply about God and existence.

Roots. Christian Science has given me stability, peace and happiness throughout my life.
