My parents were Christian Scientists, and I had the great benefit of Sunday School teaching, and learning that God is always present to meet the need—always our “first aid.” When I married and had children, they were bought up in the same way, with my husband’s agreement, and I saw what a boon it was to be able to turn to God as the only Father/Mother. When I joined a branch church, I was asked to work in various positions and realised that if I were to be of help to the Church, I needed to progress in Christian Science, so I took class Instruction and was then appointed First Reader. To my surprise, people came to me for healing treatment. This impelled me to advertise as a full-time Journal -listed practitioner.

When I was growing up, I attended First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Freeport, New York. I became a member of that church and The Mother Church at age 12.

Growing up in London I attended Sunday School and joined The Mother Church as a teenager. After graduating from Cambridge University with a degree in engineering, I initially pursued a career in music.

I was raised attending Christian Science Sunday schools all over the world because my father was a journalist for The Christian Science Monitor . However, I did not make this teaching my own until my late twenties when I was totally confused about my life purpose.  I worked in finance in New York, London and Tokyo, went to cooking school in Paris, and worked as a cook.  A conversation with a friend about how to find direction in life, led me back to Christian Science.

I came into Christian Science as an adult and found it to be just what I’d been searching for -- Mrs. Eddy’s writings described so perfectly something I’d always known deep inside.

While working in television in New York City, after college and studying/traveling in Europe and Africa, I was awakened to a keen desire to really know myself spiritually and to be more a part of Church’s healing mission. Primary class instruction transformed my life. Working for The Mother Church, in Boston, enhanced my appreciation of Church. Communing with God led me to obediently and faithfully begin publicly practicing Christian Science, and I have been gratefully healing others for over 35 years. My prayers led me to St.

Christian Science came into my family through my grandfather’s healing of a painful, incurable condition that threatened his livelihood. My siblings and I attended a Christian Science Sunday School in South Bend, Indiana, where I grew up. Active participation in Christian Science college organizations strengthened my spiritual understanding during undergraduate and graduate studies. Through healing experiences, I glimpsed the profound nature of Mary Baker Eddy’s discovery, and living Christian Science in daily affairs became a wonderful and natural way of life. Class instruction inspired a humble desire to really know God, and to be a healer—to help others.
