What Janet loves about Christian Science is the way it answers pressing questions that come to all of us. Questions like: Who am I? Why am I here? How can I find health and happiness? These questions were uppermost in her thought as she entered college.

When I was growing up, Christian Science was at the center of family life. Both of my parents were Christian Science practitioners, and I dutifully attended Sunday School.

I was a teenager when Christian Science entered my life, a woman handed me her unwanted periodicals. I read them and was intrigued by the way God was defined as impartial, all-inclusive Love. I felt that God was leading my life in a new direction.

As a child, I loved learning Bible stories, especially the stories about Jesus. I loved the way God answered the requests of the prophets and those of Christ Jesus.

This is the UK title for the lecture titled The Science of God and its power to heal us.  Misconceptions about ourselves and the world we live in are often corrected by advances in science which bring paradigm shifts to our ways of thinking and understanding existence — like discovering that the earth revolves around the sun, rather than the other way around.

I was in my late teens when God became more real to me as an infinitely loving presence. At the time, I was struggling with tough relationship problems, so I was wide open to seeking divine answers.

My calling to the public practice of Christian Science came in the summer of 1973. As I sat quietly praying about my life's purpose one night, looking out over a placid Maine lake, the moon was laying a gentle path of light directly to me.

My love for the teachings of Christian Science started at a young age, with Christian Science grandparents and parents who showed me that expressing good, or God, was my purpose. They also taught me to pray to God for healing.
