Chiemezi Elvis Ahanonu, CSB

Chiemezi has always desired to understand how things work, often immersing himself in books in order to explore this desire. He encountered Christian Science as a teenager, through Sentinel radio– an audio program from the Christian Science Sentinel. At first, he didn't really understand it; but he felt there was something more to it that was worth exploring. He began to seriously study Christian Science many years later, applying that same desire to “understand how things work” he’d always felt.

Dilshad Khambatta Eames CSB

I was introduced to Christian Science after university. Later, while living on my own in the Asia-Pacific region, traveling globally and working with people of diverse backgrounds, I was drawn to the simple thought of God as Love itself – the divine Principle that is Truth.

Alison J. Hughes, CS

Growing up going to the Christian Science Sunday School, surrounded by a family actively living the teachings of Christian Science, Alison and her siblings had quick healings of the usual childhood scrapes and illnesses. Her grandmother was a Christian Science practitioner for many years and so from a young age she felt that studying the Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, brought practical transformative results. She found getting to know God better and her relationship with the Divine naturally resulted in praying for and with others. She started receiving requests to pray for others while she was still leading her professional career, first in property (real estate) and then university-based adult education.

Caryl Emra Farkas, CSB

The most important influences on Emra’s life were her mother, who taught her to pray when confronted with difficulties, and her Christian Science Sunday School. In her teens, when a teacher asked her to speak to a social studies class about her religion, she found the joy that comes from sharing what she understood and had experienced of Mary Baker Eddy’s discovery.

Melanie Wahlberg, CS

Melanie's calendar is full for the 2025-2026 lecture season. Two influences that Melanie will never forget were the Christian Science Sunday School and a mom who turned to prayer and encouraged her to do the same. These influences showed her something of the reliability of God and spiritual inspiration, and trusting this helped her find her way growing up.

Janet Hegarty, CSB

What Janet loves about Christian Science is the way it answers pressing questions that come to all of us. Questions like: Who am I? Why am I here? How can I find health and happiness? These questions were uppermost in her thought as she entered college.
