Annual Meeting FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

How can I share information about Annual Meeting?

Thank you for considering this! Fellow members attending online have live streamed the meeting and gathered with others in their homes, at their church, or at their Reading Room. (This is especially helpful to those without internet or computer access). You can also ask your branch church to share information in a newsletter or on a church bulletin board, mention it at church services or meetings, or share information in your Reading Room. Please find resources for sharing about this year’s Annual Meeting in our Dropbox folder.

Will Annual Meeting and events be interpreted into other languages?

Simultaneous live interpretation in French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish will be offered for  Sunday’s inspirational meeting and Monday’s Annual Meeting. A replay of the meetings in these languages will be posted online by June 12. The hymn sing and other weekend events will be in English only.

Where can I find Annual Meeting replays and published reports?

The replay of Annual Meeting in English will be available online within 24 hours. The download will be available about a week later. A replay of the meeting in French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish will be posted online by June 12.

You can replay the Annual Meeting video webcast or download it to your computer or mobile device for one year after the event. (The Annual Meeting videos are only available for one year due to copyright restrictions.)

There will be a report about the meeting in the September issues of The Christian Science Journal and The Herald of Christian Science.

What if I have other questions?

You can email questions to AnnualMeeting@christianscience.com or call 1-800-288-7155 or +1-617-450-2000 (outside US/Canada). Our staff answers the phones Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. ET.

Viewing Online Questions

How can I watch the online broadcast of Annual Meeting and certain weekend events?

Annual Meeting goes live online 60 minutes prior to the 1:00 p.m. ET start time, and the musical prelude begins at 12:50 p.m. ET.  The other weekend events that offer an online live stream will be broadcast at their corresponding start times. The broadcast window will appear on top of the Annual Meeting landing page, and the broadcast can be started by clicking on the triangular “Play” button in the middle of the window for each event.

How can I listen to Annual Meeting and the Sunday inspirational meeting in other languages?

The broadcast window will appear at the top of the Annual Meeting landing page. Start the broadcast by clicking on the triangular “Play” button in the middle of the window. The language links above the broadcast window will allow online visitors to switch the interpretation language or view the original broadcast in English.

Can I listen to Annual Meeting by telephone?

While we hope people will be able to watch the live webcast of Annual Meeting, we understand that there are a few situations where that isn’t possible. You can listen to the live webcast of Annual Meeting and weekend events by calling 1-646-558-8656, access code: 969 9392 8161# (same as online church services).

Please note that this option is available only in English. There will not be any replays via phone. Phone charges, if any, are the responsibility of the caller.

What if I’m having trouble viewing the webcast?

There are some simple steps listed on our Webcast help guide that may help resolve the problem. The webcast can be viewed on a computer and on iPads, iPhones, and Android devices, in many, but not all, cases. If you need further assistance, please call us at 1-800-288-7155 or +1-617-450-2000 (outside US/Canada).

In Person Attendance Questions

Does the Mother Church provide travel or visa assistance?

The Mother Church does not provide visa assistance or financial aid for attending Annual Meeting or other events. However, members of The Mother Church may apply to the Clerk’s office for letters of invitation needed for visa purposes. Please reach out to AnnualMeeting@christianscience.com to request a letter or indicate your request for a letter in the registration form.

Are there any lodging recommendations?

We recommend that you reserve your accommodations before making flight reservations. Many visitors come to Boston this weekend, and hotels fill up quickly. You can find more accommodations at reasonable prices in the surrounding communities.

Here is a list of hotels and guest lodgings in the Back Bay of Boston and some in nearby areas. The Mother Church does not endorse any of these facilities. Feel free to contact a travel agent. There is no service at The Mother Church for connecting visitors with members who have space in their home and welcome paying guests.

The Mother Church is also offering discounted dormitory lodging to any interested attendees on a first-come, first served basis. If you are interested in this discounted lodging, please indicate this in your registration.

Is The Mother Church wheelchair-accessible?

The Mother Church Extension and the Original Edifice, along with the Publishing House lobby, are

Individuals in wheelchairs or walkers may use a newly installed elevator from the Plaza parking

Extension auditorium. They may also be dropped off by the Portico ramp on the Plaza by The Mother
Church Extension and then drivers can park their cars in the garage. If the individual is
comfortable walking up a few stairs, an escalator is also available from the garage.

How do I get from Boston Logan Airport to The Mother Church?

Those who are flying into Boston Logan International Airport for Annual Meeting have a few transportation options to get from the airport to The Mother Church and your nearby accommodations.

  1. Take an Uber, Lyft, or taxi.

  2. Take the Logan Express Back Bay shuttle. Find information here.

Take the airport shuttle to the Blue Line MBTA (subway). Then take the Blue Line into the city. Use Google or Apple maps or the MBTA map.
