Promotion and Social Media Internship

The Promotion & Design Service Group (P&DSG) is looking for an intern who would like to help us implement our social media strategy for The Mother Church, The Christian Science Monitor, and The Mary Baker Eddy Library, as well as update our presence on Apple Maps, Google Maps, and other mapping apps.

P&DSG is a service-based department that shapes and supports the promotion of the Christian Science Publishing Society and The First Church of Christ, Scientist. During this internship, you will help posts and reels reach the public and fellow Christian Scientists, and see how these audiences respond to what you’ve created in order to innovate and make them even stronger.

If you enjoy diving deeply into what makes strong posts on social media that further the Church’s social media “voice,” and helping members of the public learn more about and find landmarks on the Christian Science Plaza, you’d be a welcome addition to our team.

Opportunities:

  • Contribute to social media strategy discussions with P&DSG management

  • Support the implementation of social media strategy:

    • Determine the best platform for messages

    • Write promotional copy for various social media channels

    • Create reels and videos

    • Coordinate creation and tracking efforts with Design and Analytics groups

  • Update mapping coordinates for Christian Science Plaza landmarks on Google Maps, Apple Maps,

Qualifications & Desired Qualities:

  • Passionate about social media and the Church’s role in it

  • Knowledge of current social media strategies

  • Strong presentation, writing, and grammar skills

  • Familiarity with social media and design software (Canva, Hootsuite)

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient self-starter with solid time management skills

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing or similar field

Program Dates: May 20 - August 2, 2024

Compensation: Interns receive a $400/week living stipend, as well as housing near The Mother Church. They will also receive a $900 grant upon completion of the internship. These payments are taxable benefits.
