Graphic Design Internship

Promotion & Design Services Group: P&DSG is responsible for creative work supporting an inspired and healing voice and message on behalf of departments throughout The Mother Church and The Christian Science Publishing Society and in service of the worldwide Church membership. Members of P&DSG are involved in a wide range of projects including publications of Mary Baker Eddy’s writings, the Church’s social media presence, and the promotion of Church and CSPS services and products. This internship will provide you with an opportunity to be involved in creative projects throughout The Mother Church.

Graphic Design Internship: We are looking for an individual who is excited about entering the creative industry and enthusiastic about supporting the diverse activities of The Mother Church. This opportunity will allow you to learn how our organization creates well-designed materials for needs big and small. We’re looking for an intern who will bring their creative and spiritual sense and apply it in supporting the mission of The Mother Church. This internship would be a good next step for those seeking careers in graphic design, publishing, or the creative field more broadly.

Potential opportunities:

  • Assist departments with creative needs in supporting the mission of The Mother Church.

  • Collaborate on projects based on strengths and interests (e.g. marketing, illustration, image curation, photography, social media, etc).

  • Assist with the design and layout of TMC / CSPS products and periodicals.

  • Gain experience on a diversely-skilled team.

  • Learn how P&DSG works with departments throughout the organization to solve design problems and best serve the global membership.

Qualifications & desired qualities:

  • Experience and interest in graphic design.

  • Humble attitude of service; interest in supporting departments across the organization in reaching their goals.

  • Written and verbal communication skills; the ability to ask questions and give and receive feedback.

  • Ability to accomplish tasks independently and as a member of a team; readiness to support team members in a professional setting.

  • Desire to do your best and learn new skills; flexibility and humility.

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required.

Program Dates: May 20 - August 2, 2024

Compensation: Interns receive a $400/week living stipend, as well as housing near The Mother Church. They will also receive a $900 grant upon completion of the internship. These payments are taxable benefits.
