Faith as a Mustard Seed— Rebecca Minor

If you have faith as a mustard seed -
even if one humble grain,
There's not a mountain you can't remove,
a victory you can't attain.

Nothing can darken or hamper your way.
When faith lights your path, you can see clear as day.
Doubt cannot enter when you stand fast in truth.
Just begin with a mustard seed,
And you'll notice how it grows with every proof.

Remember that woman from Shunem,
whose faithfulness gained her a son.
And when death attempted to claim him,
she realized what had to be done.
She journeyed to Carmel and never did tell
that her little one died, she replied "All is well."
She brought him to Elisha, and she kept faith in hand -
that kernel of mustard seed,
'Till her son was healed at God's supreme command.

So open wide and let faith pour in.
God will furnish the strength within
To bar up your door against bold intrusions.
For faith as a mustard seed will dispel life's illusions.
Faith as a mustard seed.

Listen to Rebecca share the inspiration behind Faith as a Mustard Seed.

Rebecca earned a voice performance degree from Ithaca College, and has sung in operas, musicals and concerts, primarily in New York State. She has also sung as a soloist in various Christian Science branches for over 11 years. In recent years Rebecca discovered she had an affinity for writing music, and began to craft autobiographical songs about the ups and downs of urban life. This exploration, along with the years of exposure to sacred music led her naturally into composing inspirational music as well. She has since joined the inspirational music company, Watchfire Music, as a composer of sacred solos, and her sheet music and recordings of those solos can be found on www.watchfiremusic.com. Rebecca is thrilled that three of these pieces have been performed as solos by Julia Wade at The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston. Rebecca has performed her music in the Watchfire Music listening room concert series, in church-sponsored musical programs, and in musically interactive lectures alongside Maryl Walters and Ginny Luedeman. Rebecca is one of the two co-soloists at The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ Scientist, in Boston. She earned a voice performance degree from Ithaca College, and has sung in operas, musicals and concerts, primarily in New York State.
