Tour details

Original Church

Friendly, knowledgable guides will take you through the Romanesque style Original Church building, built in 1894. It includes frescoes, mosaic work, Italian marble floors, Canadian red birch pews, stained-glass windows depicting Bible stories, and an Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ.

The Church Extension

We'll also visit the 1906 Byzantine-Renaissance style Church Extension with its soaring dome, seating for more than 3,000 people, and one of the world's largest Aeolian-Skinner pipe organs with a total of 13,384 pipes.

The life of Mary Baker Eddy

Along the way, you'll learn about the remarkable, inspiring life history of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science and Founder of the Church of Christ, Scientist, The Christian Science Publishing Society, and The Christian Science Monitor.

Feel free to take photos, but no photos may be used for commercial purposes. Archival, exhibition-quality framed and unframed prints of photographic images from around the Church and Christian Science Plaza are available for purchase online.
