Tickets are required to view the Mapparium globe. The last tour starts at 4:40 p.m.
All other exhibits in the How Do You See the World? experience are free to the public.

Mapparium globe visitor terms:

  • Photography and video for personal, non-commercial use and enjoyment are allowed inside the Mapparium exhibit at the end of the tour. Any distribution of personal photos or videos for commercial use or publication is prohibited. You agree to follow the policies in the FAQ.
  • Visitors under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All visitors need a ticket, regardless of age.
  • We will gladly exchange your ticket for a different day if you need to reschedule for any reason.
  • All discount tickets must be obtained in person at the Welcome Hall, at the Christian Science Plaza.
  • Our Terms of Service apply to your ticket purchase and visit.
  • Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we use and safeguard the information you provide.

The How Do You See the World? experience offers free or discounted admission to the Mapparium™ globe for qualifying individuals. Please see the list of available options below.

Note: Discounts can only be applied when purchasing tickets to the Mapparium globe in person. All other exhibits in the How Do You See the World? experience are free.

Bus

By bus, take Harvard/Holyoke Gate—Dudley Station, Bus number “1." It stops on Massachusetts Avenue at Clearway Street, adjacent to the Christian Science Plaza. Bus number "39" stops at the corner of Huntington Avenue and Massachusetts Avenue.

Subway

By subway, take the Green line to Prudential or Symphony Stations (“E” Train). From the Prudential Station, cross Belvidere Street to the Christian Science Plaza. From Symphony Station, the Christian Science Plaza is on Massachusetts Avenue, north on your right.

Or take the Green line to Hynes Convention Center Station ("B" "C" "D" Trains). From the Hynes Convention Center Station, turn left. Walk along Massachusetts Avenue south. The Plaza will be on your left just past Clearway Street. 

Or take the Orange line to Massachusetts Avenue Station. Walk north on Massachusetts Avenue. You will find the Plaza on your right just past Huntington Avenue. 

Driving from the North

Take I-93 South to Exit 26 (Storrow Drive/North Station/Rt-28, Rt-3). Keep left at the fork in the ramp through a short tunnel and merge onto Storrow Drive. Turn slight left onto MA-28 South/Storrow Drive/MA-3 North. Take the left exit to Copley Square Back Bay (MA-28 South). Turn right onto Beacon Street/MA-28 South. Continue to follow Beacon Street. Turn left onto Massachusetts Avenue. Continue on Massachusetts Avenue. The Christian Science Plaza is on your left.

Driving from the South

Take I-93 North to Exit 18 (Frontage Road, toward Massachusetts Avenue/Roxbury). Turn slight left onto Frontage Road North. Turn left onto Massachusetts Avenue Conn. Turn slight right onto Massachusetts Avenue. The Christian Science Plaza is on your right.

Driving from the West

Take I-90 East to Exit 22 (Prudential Center, Copley Square). Take the ramp toward Prudential Center. Turn slight right onto Huntington Avenue/MA-9/Avenue of the Arts. Turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. The Christian Science Plaza is on your right.

Parking in the Christian Science Plaza garage is open to the public and can be accessed traveling westbound on Huntington Avenue or northbound on Massachusetts Avenue. The address for GPS devices and phone apps like Google Maps is 235 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02115

Please note: it's illegal to make a left turn into the Massachusetts Avenue entrance when traveling southbound on Massachusetts Avenue.

Parking fees:

  • Parking is free with validation for those attending Church services. 

  • Parking is available at a discount rate of $18 per day with validation when visiting the How Do You See the World? experience, The Mary Baker Eddy Library, and the Christian Science Reading Room (after 19 hours, standard rates apply). 

  • Posted rates apply without validation. 

Regular parking rates:

  • 0.5 hours: $11

  • 1 hour: $16

  • 1.5 hours: $21

  • 2 hours: $26

  • 2.5 hours: $31

  • 3-12 hours: $36

  • 12-24 hours: $42

  • Night rate: $20 (enter after 5 pm and exit before 12 am)

  • Event rate: $30

  • Weekends: $25 (for up to 12 hours)

What is the How Do You See the World? experience?

A new interactive experience in the Christian Science Publishing House with three highly engaging exhibits, including one of Boston’s most iconic landmarks, the Mapparium globe. With an emphasis on global progress and possibilities, these spaces encourage you to ponder your place in the world.

These exhibits are designed to spark curiosity, raise thought-provoking questions, and inspire deep, critical thinking about how we can cultivate progress locally and globally, in our own lives and in our communities.

What are the hours of operation?

Monday—Saturday: 10 a.m.—5 p.m. ET
Sunday: 11 a.m.—5 p.m. ET
Last tour begins at 4:40pm.

What is the cost for entry?

The Mapparium globe requires paid, ticketed admission—which can be purchased at the Information Desk onsite. All other exhibits in the How Do You See the World? experience are free to the public.

Do you offer validated parking for visitors?

Discounted parking is offered to visitors with validation. Please stop by the Welcome Hall Information Desk for details.

Are photography or videography allowed?

Much of the exhibit content is copyrighted and may not be reproduced and distributed unless permitted by the copyright owner. Exhibit Image Credits are available at the Welcome Desk.

You may not conduct posed photo sessions or use hidden cameras, flashes, tripods, monopods, selfie-sticks, or large video cameras anywhere in the exhibits. You may not record or photograph our staff or visitors without their permission. 

Photos and videos may be taken in all areas of the How Do You See the World? experience and the Mapparium globe with small, handheld devices solely for your personal, non-commercial use and enjoyment. 

Any publication or distribution of personal photos and videos taken in our exhibit spaces is prohibited, including posting on social media. However, you are permitted to post your photos or videos of the Mapparium globe on your personal, non-business related social media accounts, to describe your visit to the Mapparium experience.

Commercial use of photos and videos taken in our exhibit spaces is prohibited, including selling photos and videos, using them in commercial publications or products, or allowing their use to promote any business, organization, goods, or services.

What can I do with my bulky items?

We offer a free coat room service for visitors to check-in all backpacks, luggage, umbrellas, and bulky outerwear on the main floor in the Welcome Hall. Please see a Host or security officer on site for guidance.

Are food or drink allowed?

Food is not allowed inside the How Do You See the World? experience or the Mapparium globe. You may bring a clear, plastic water bottle filled with water. No other drink is allowed. We do not offer food or drink for purchase on site. However, food and drink are allowed outside on the Christian Science Plaza. Please dispose of any trash or recycling in the designated receptacles.
