About testimonies

Testimonies in church are a key component of Wednesday meetings

Every Christian Science Wednesday testimony meeting includes a time when all attendees are invited to share experiences, testimonies, and remarks on Christian Science. This opportunity allows the congregation to share their inspiration and acknowledge spiritual growth. Anyone is welcome to share.

Testimony guidance for The Mother Church’s online Wednesday meeting

  • Submission window: You can submit testimonies any time during the week. If we receive your testimony after 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday, it may be read the following Wednesday.

  • Review process: All submissions are reviewed before being read, and not everything is read. Currently, we are only accepting text submissions for online meetings.

  • Character limit: 3500.

  • Content guidance from the Church Manual (p. 47): “Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, ‘who healeth all thy diseases’ (Psalm 103:3). This testimony, however, shall not include a description of symptoms or of suffering, though the generic name of the disease may be indicated. This By-Law applies to testimonials which appear in the periodicals and to those which are given at the Wednesday evening meeting.”

  • Poetry submissions: While we love inspired poetry, we do not air poems without an associated healing. Poetry is best submitted to JSH-Online.

  • Note regarding verification: Testimonies submitted for the Wednesday online meeting are intended for that meeting only and not for general publication. They are not verified for accuracy or authorized for further distribution and publishing.

Submitting a testimony for enduring publication

If you would like to submit a longer version of your testimony for publication, consider submitting it to The Christian Science Journal, Christian Science Sentinel, or The Herald of Christian Science.
