At 19 I played on the Irish Golf Team, the professional European Tour, and won two national championships. But I found something even more exhilarating--a sense of God’s laws of protection, harmony and love. Searching for answers as a young man, I found these truths in Christian Science. I learned to never give up, never give in to evil. Christian Science helped me overcome threats to my life at gunpoint; bombing of business premises by terrorists during the Northern Ireland troubles; severe illness; a head-on car crash; the threat of bankruptcy when I owned two clothing factories, 15 retail stores and employed about 200 people. I have profound gratitude to God for Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy.
I joined The Mother Church in 1969, served in many positions in several branch churches, and especially love teaching Sunday School. I worked with the homeless 12 years, and served as prison chaplain. I have a BA in theology. In 1997 I had Primary class instruction; it changed my life. In 1998 the healing of a friend of cancer propelled me into the public practice. Serving others is a joyful experience, the greatest vocation. I’ve served on the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, and I write for the periodicals. I had Normal class in 2012. My deepest desire as a teacher of Christian Science is to share the light of the Christ, Truth, with each student, that they will be blessed, and consider becoming healers and teachers. Our world needs spiritual thinkers.
