I grew up talking to God – not always listening as much as I could have, but definitely talking to God. Having an alcoholic father drove me to search for some stability and peace in my life, so I talked to God. I was angry about what I thought God had done to me, and I was afraid of what He was going to do next. But I discovered that neither fear nor anger can help us to know or love God.

As a teen contemplating suicide because of the hopelessness and worthlessness I felt, I was introduced to Christian Science by way of the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. This book is truly a key to understanding the Bible, giving an explanation of the nature of God as all good, as Love itself, and of what that means for each of us as God’s image and likeness. Science and Health showed me how this view of God, myself and others brings spiritual renewal and healing in our daily lives. It’s not too much to say that it saved my life.

Mary Baker Eddy insisted that what she had discovered in her deep perusal of the Bible were universal laws, established by a benevolent God, which could be practiced in our day-to-day lives and experienced as practical Christian healing of emotional, physical, relationship and financial challenges. Throwing off the limitations as a child of an alcoholic wasn’t a walk in the park. It took dedicated, focused prayer, study, and action; but the changes came. It also wasn’t something I did alone. I discovered that the Bible promise is true and practical: “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” (Phil 4:13).

Since 1988, I have been in the full time healing ministry of Christian Science. I became an authorized teacher of Christian Science in 2000.  I’ve written frequently for the Christian Science Sentinel and The Christian Science Journal, and have been a guest on Sentinel Radio and Sentinel Watch podcasts multiple times. I’ve shared the powerful, healing ideas of Christian Science in lectures given in prisons, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, juvenile jails, in seminaries and religion classrooms, to medical staff at hospitals, at health and wellness expos, as well as to general public audiences.

It is my greatest pleasure to share with others the truths that I’ve discovered in this Bible-based system of healing. It’s a ministry of gratitude for all the blessings that have come my way through this wonderful Science of the Christ.
