Spirituality and the practice of prayer isn’t a lifestyle choice for Michelle; it is basic to who she is. Her family was introduced to Christian Science through her dad’s healing of acute depression. She was exposed to the idea that God heals sickness from an early age. At twelve, Michelle prayed to God to heal a foot wound. The quick healing fanned her interest in all things relating to God. In her last year of high school she took evening training to be a Christian Science nurse’s aide. Right after graduation, she pursued training for the healing ministry of Christian Science nursing.Nine years as a Christian Science nurse provided her with loads of experience in healing through spiritual means. By the time Michelle opened her first public office as a Christian Science practitioner in 1989, she had witnessed a great number of healings through prayer. From personal experience, she can share accounts of healings of broken bones, tumors, pneumonia, eating disorders, heart disease, mental and emotional disorders, financial difficulties and more. She has observed in the practice of Christian Science that following the example and teachings of Christ Jesus heals quickly and effectively. Mary Baker Eddy’s Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures unlocks the treasure trove of the Bible explaining the science of the Christ that heals.

Christian Science: What it is and how it heals

I use PowerPoint and provide my own projector.  Through honest talk about the questions skeptics ask, this lecture tackles the essentials of Christian Science – its theology, its Christianity and its role in healing – giving an insider’s look at Christian Science treatment through prayer for physical cure. Please note that after the lecture, I hold an open Q&A period with the audience members who volunteer to stay. These Q&A sessions generally run anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
For those who may have resisted a serious consideration of Christian Science, this lecture gives a clear, logical and compelling response to the following questions:
· How is Christian Science prayer treatment on the cutting edge of healthcare?
· What distinguishes Christian Science from positive thinking or blind faith methods?
· How is Christian Science both spiritual and scientific?

This lecture also presents the life of Mary Baker Eddy and her path of discovery, bringing out events in her early medical practice and some of her first healings through prayer that led up to discovering the eternal laws of Christ-healing practiced by Bible patriarchs, prophets, Christ Jesus, early Christians and many today.

Finding God, finding health

I use PowerPoint and provide my own projector. This lecture introduces Christian Science to general audiences. It explains the living God as active, present and accessible. No one is, or can be, cut off from or left out of the divine presence. The unique revelation of God’s full nature, as explained by Christian Science, opens the divine ability in us to not just survive, but to thrive. Please note that after the lecture, I hold an open QA period with the audience members who volunteer to stay. These QA sessions generally run anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

This lecture presents facts of the life of Mary Baker Eddy that bring out her role as a Christian healer from her youth, up to, and after her discovery of the explanation in Christian Science of how such healing happens. It responds to common questions about Christian Science and its practice:
  • How does an understanding of God result in healing?
  • Does one have to be a "believer" to be healed through prayer?
  • Why would one choose prayer as a viable form of health care?
  • How is a system of healing prayer researched and developed in the late 1800s relevant today?
  • Where do Jesus and Christianity fit into the discussion of finding God and finding health?
  • Is there a moral element to effective spiritual healing through prayer?

Angry no more: From hurt to health through forgiveness

I use PowerPoint and provide my own projector. This lecture introduces Christian Science and healing through prayer for emotional, mental and physical issues stemming from unhealed anger. Please note that after the lecture, I hold an open QA period with the audience members who volunteer to stay. These QA sessions generally run anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

For those who have felt victimized, trailed by a sad past, or marked by abuse, this lecture offers insights that neutralize anger. The spiritual reasoning through prayer, taught in Christian Science, opens one's natural ability for peace, forgiveness, restoration and progress. It addresses common questions about Christian Science and its practice:
  • How does Christian Science deal with evil and sin?
  • What distinguishes Christian forgiveness, as explained in Christian Science, from ignoring or allowing evil to continue?
  • Is Christian Science teaching on anger, sin and forgiveness Bible-based?
  • Are Old Testament scriptures helpful in practicing mercy and forgiveness?
  • Is Christian Science treatment effective in healing emotional, mental and behavioral difficulties stemming from abuse?
The life of Mary Baker Eddy is discussed in the context of the spiritual insight and healing that led to her becoming a world-renowned American religious reformer. It also gives examples of her Christian character and the influence of her faith in dealing with anger.

This lecture is adaptable for prisons, shelters, panels, and classroom settings where anger, violence and abuse subjects are relevant. This lecture particularly lends itself to community emergencies and can be readied and given with a short prep time.
