I think you need more forum subdivisions so that different types of topics can be grouped together. For example you may have a forum for

Healings
Bible
Parenting

etc.

What I have found in new web sites with forums is that you need to "wait til there is a lot more response" as people find the site and engage BEFORE you start creating a bunch of additional forums. Weekly visitors (as opposed to daily visitors) get quickly confused about which of multiple forums to visit and give up cause it was pre-engineered instead of letting things unfold. By having one discussioin area, I can easily look at the topic, look at the number of visits and determine which or all I want to spend time reading ... Obviously just my opinions and experiences

I totally agree with you, Harley. I'm a member of some incredibly active discussion forums--the pages change almost hourly--but you can find the threads you're interested in by doing a search. I like the one forum set up, but even if you go for divided sections, I think if you section it out prematurely, a lot of people will miss out on things that might interest them and then not come back.

Apparently this system also has the abiltiy to have "Groups". "Groups" are a interesting way of how forums can be organized. An already active bunch of individuals might want to form some kind of "group". (Note being "already active" is necessary - there is nothing worse than a group of one) A group might form based on geography for example - a region or perhaps a Branch Church in a City somewhere. The Branch Church's website could link to their group on this website. Or A group might be a "birds of a feather" kind of group focused on specific things. Church Lectures, or Sunday Schools, or Reading rooms, or Music Committees, ... etc.
